The 2014 FIFA world cup has Africa all over it!
The continent is well-represented with 5 African countries: Algeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria. I will be rooting for Cote d’Ivoire, obviously! We are currently the second-best ranked African team.
This time around, I would like to think that our chances at winning ( Yes! winning the cup) are much better. The Golden Team with Didier Drogba at the helm. The 2014 World Cup will be Drogba’s last world cup and he has very much to prove on his way out. We will be playing against Japan, match #8 on Sat, Jun 14, 9:00 PM on ESPN, I definitely expect Cote d’Ivoire to make it to the quarter finals. Sure Japan has Keisuke Honda and he is surely a player for whom, we have to be on the lookout but no worries here! WE’RE GOOD!
All of our hopes of progressing do not solely rely on Didier Drogba, however he is one of the favorites along with Yaya Toure (Midfielder) and Wilfried Bony (Forward). These guys have been instrumental at getting us this far and are all expected to bring their A game.
2014 is our year! We need this! LETS GO ELEPHANTS, I will be rooting for you!
